Weddings are always exciting events to photograph but when part of it is shot from a moving helicopter… now that’s a thrill! Kamilla and Leigh’s guests arrived to Hawaii from Australia with little knowledge of what the couple had in store for them, other than that they were to meet in the hotel lobby for a shuttle pickup to the ceremony site. To their surprise, they were dropped off at the airport where 5 helicopters waited to escort everyone to Kualoa Ranch on the windward side. I hopped in the chopper with Kamilla, her bridesmaid, and two adorable flower girls and we were able to grab some fun photos on the way to the ceremony site. Leigh greeted the guests as they landed one helicopter after another and anxiously waited for Kamilla to make her grand entrance. I quickly hopped out of the chopper to grab a few shots of Kamilla walking down “the aisle” while my assistant photographer snapped shots from a helicopter hovering above. After the ceremony, everyone flew back to Honolulu and we were able to take some aerial photos from a second helicopter of the newlyweds. Thanks Kamilla and Leigh for having us photograph such a fun and memorable wedding!
